Installation

 wget http://gwan.com/archives/gwan_linux.tar.bz2
 tar -xjf gwan_linux.tar.bz2; cd gwan_linux
 ./gwan :8080

Then, open your Web browser and type http://127.0.0.1:8080 to play with the G-WAN examples (or run NGINX wrk2 to benchmark G-WAN).

Your First Steps

Start with the Frequently Asked Questions (at least the first dozen). Then,

• run G-WAN as a Caching Reverse-Proxy (you are done reading, enjoy the speed!),
• visit the G-WAN API for a quick overview, or as needed when you want to do something specific.

Now G-WAN is statically-linked (no longer using the GNU LibC), there is no "prefered" Linux distribution (any version of any distribution should work).

Forum and Q&As

In 2009-2012, we have had 3 consecutive forums, all deleted by the hosting parties after 5k users were reached.

Stackoverflow now contains mostly obsolete contents – for the little that they have not erased (between 2009-2012 our G-WAN account was completely deleted 3 times – each time we reached the 5k points mark, and after 2012 they periodically deleted the most voted Q&As).
